The United Arab Emirates offers a comprehensive visa system divided into two main categories: Visitor Visas and Resident Visas with Emirates ID Card, each with multiple sub-types to cater to different purposes and durations of stay.
Visitor Visas
- Tourist Visa : For leisure travel. Available as short-term (30 or 60 days) or long-term (90 days) single or multiple entry. Can be obtained through UAE airlines, hotels, or licensed travel agents
- 5-Year Multiple Entry Tourist Visa: Allows multiple entries over five years, with up to 90 days per visit (extendable for another 90 days per visit). No local sponsor required
- Transit Visa: For travelers transiting through UAE airports for 48 or 96 hours.
- Visit Visa: For family, friends, or business visits. Usually sponsored by a UAE resident or company.
- Visa on Arrival: Citizens of certain countries can obtain a visa on arrival at UAE airports.
- E-Visa:For nationalities not eligible for visa-free or visa-on-arrival, applied for online before travel
Resident Visas & Emirates ID Card
- Employment/Work Visa: For individuals employed by UAE companies, government entities, or free zones. Sponsored by the employer
- Green Visa: A 5-year residency visa for skilled professionals, freelancers, investors, and entrepreneurs. Does not require employer sponsorship
- Golden Visa: A long-term (up to 10 years) residency for investors, entrepreneurs, specialized talents, and outstanding students
- Family Visa: For family members of UAE residents or citizens.
